INTRO TO EQUIPPING

When Jesus first called his disciples, his words were, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." (Matthew 4:19) He spoke of two roles--following him and calling other people to follow him--and we want our church family to be marked by these two commitments. People who follow Jesus are people who love him, enjoy spending time with him, who know his teaching and pattern of life, and who seek to live according to his will. They also understand that this commitment must not stop with them. Like their Savior, they invest time with others and say to them, as Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 11:1, "Imitate me, as I imitate Christ."
The Sunday morning equipping hour is dedicated to accomplishing that desire. Quality classes taught by qualified teachers designed to equip you with the essential biblical information you need to grow in your pursuit of Christ, offered in a format geared to having you learn with others in order to facilitate the opportunities to sharpen one another with what we're learning. Whether you're just starting out on your journey of faith or have attended Grace Church for decades we'd invite you to participate in our equipping classes. Come learn biblical truths for the first time or attend with someone you are meeting with in order to encourage and challenge one another to practically work out what you hear in class each week!

2026–27 Classes:

Join us for First Step the first and third Sundays of the month during each term! First Step aims to get to know you as a person while allowing you to meet key leaders and to learn more about the church and the next steps to take in getting more involved. You can ask questions, learn about our core values and meet a few of our Elders who lead the discussion.

Meets in A13 (upstairs conference room).

This class is created for new believers who want to understand the foundational beliefs of Christianity. However, this class is also an encouragement and reminder for those who have been in the faith for a while. We will look at what God’s Word says about who He is and who we are. The ultimate goal is to leave with a solid understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

Meets in B1 (the classroom in the chapel building).

Frequently Asked

How do classes and terms work?

Classes are offered in 6-week "terms" with occasional breaks for holidays or other church events. A break of a few weeks is given between the end of one term and the beginning of the next. Classes are further arranged by "track" denoting classes which are linked to one another and able to be taken in series (though they may also be taken individually). A great example is the "Christian Theology" track which is offered over the course of an entire year and broken in 4 terms (Christian Theology 1, Christian Theology 2, Christian Theology 3, and Christian Theology 4) - each term covers different elements of biblical theology, can be taken in sequence (or out of sequence), but can also joined at any point throughout the year.

What time are the classes offered?

Classes are offered after the conclusion of our Sunday Morning Service which runs from 9-10:30am. Classes will start at 10:45am and will conclude by noon.

Who teaches the classes?

Classes are taught by a variety of approved teachers including our Elders, Ministry Directors, Shepherding Group Leaders and other laymen from the church.

What if I have to miss a week of the class?

Not a problem! We understand that individuals may not be able to attend every week during a particular 6-week term. Classes are designed to be taken with others from the church and would encourage you to speak with those you're attending with about collecting any notes or handouts you may miss. Additionally, our teachers and church staff are happy to work with you to fill in any missing gaps you may have.

Can I start a track mid-year or take them out of order?

Yes! While we believe there is value in attending all 6 weeks of any given class and taking them in the order they've been scheduled, we also believe it's more valuable that you come than sit on the sidelines. All are welcome to attend even if you're only able to be there for an individual week or need to jump in a little late on any particular term. We trust the time spent will be beneficial to you for as much of each class term as you're able to attend.
